A few more updates. I am a little nervous that I might have pink eye. One of my eyes is just looking a little pink or bloodshot, which is a little unusal for me. It does seem less than yesterday, though, so I will not get too freaked out yet. A friend here had pink eye a few weeks ago - otherwise, I doubt I would even think of it as an option since I don't think I've ever even had it!
And, here is one thing that you will NOT get a picture of! Since it is cold here and the warm water in the shower doesn't last a super long time, I have decied not to shave my legs while I am here (at least while it is cold out). This is pretty crazy for me since I usually shave almost every time I am in the shower. Let's just say that other than the time I broke my ankle and my leg was in a cast for 5 weeks, this will be the first time since I started shaving my legs in the spring of 6th grade that I have not shaved for more than a couple of days. One the good side, it appears that I have much less leg hair than I imagined or remembered. Still, it is very, very weird!
I thought there was something else that I wanted to put up, but now I forget. I just got back from the grocery store and produce market. For this week, I will be making a small amount of mashed potatoes (only 3 small potatoes!) with some sour cream, fresh spinach with mushrooms and roasted red peppers, an apple and plum pie, and I will attempt to make salata vinete (baba ghanoush) which will involve roasting an eggplant. It all sounds pretty good, so I just hope I have a change to use all the food before it goes bad. The mushrooms are from last week and are getting questionable. I definitely need to use them up today!!!
I realized that I never posted the pictures I took of the produce market. These aren't great, but I kind of got in trouble when I took them, so don't expect many more!
This is how most of the stands in the market are set up. Apparently it was different and outside just a few years ago, but EU regulations mean that it has to be indoors now.
Check out all of the grapes! A lot of them are grown here in Romania, and the all have seeds.
